Betaine HCl has been found to protect the livers of experimental animals against the hepatotoxins ethanol and carbon tetrachloride. Choline is needed for the synthesis of cell membrane phospholipids and other compounds within the body.  Inositol is important as the basis for a number of signalling and secondary messenger molecule and is is involved in a number of biological processes which may be associated with the detoxification process.

Dandelion shows proven value as a diuretic, flushing excess water from the body. It also promotes the flow of bile and stimulates the appetite.  Yellow dock is also reported to also stimulate bile production.  Burdock root extract might also protect the liver from toxicity caused by ethanol and carbon tetrachloride, possibly due to its antioxidant activity.  A compound found in Milk Thistle Seed called Silymarin has been shown to protect the liver from a variety of harmful substances. Its action includes preventing toxins from penetrating the interior of liver cells, promoting the growth of healthy new cells to repair liver damage.

Soy Lecithin binds chemically to cholesterol which is produced predominately by the liver, thus reducing the amount of pure cholesterol in the bloodstream.  Other preliminary research suggests it might have anti-inflammatory and free radical scavenging activity.

Suggested Use: 5-6 capsules per day
