Phytonutrients are phytochemicals, in particular compounds from plants which have been identified as having health protective or supportive activity. In this multivitamin we have packed some of the best and most studied phytonutrients such as Spirulina, Chlorella, Green Tea, Curcumins, Lutein, Cayenne, Blueberry and even Cranberry. Together Chlorella and Spirulina are often considered 2 of the top ‘green foods', together their green pigments, they provide a extensive rage of carotenoids, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and some unique pigments called phycobilins. These compounds have been noted to favorably affect some immune functions and have some liver protective capabilities too. Green tea catechins have a good reputation for its antioxidant activity where the predominant data suggest that the catechins confer protective effects against many cancers. It may also have anti-inflammatory, anti-atherogenic and antimicrobial activities as well. Curcumins from the Turmeric Extract represents of the most interesting plant chemical studies to date. Often found as an ingredient in curries, the curcumin found in turmeric is noted for its strong antioxidant ability with notable positive research results in preventing cancer growth and controlling many aspects of inflammation. Another plant extract we included is the use of cayenne in this multivitamin to help with indigestion and may help those with a loss of appetite. Due to those properties, it may be protective against age-related increases in lens density and cataract formation.
