Male fertility appears to be influenced by Zinc and it is known that infertile males have lower seminal plasma Zinc, with normal or reduced blood Zinc. Supplementation with Zinc improves sperm parameters in men with reduced sperm mobility.  Zinc levels appear to decrease in the prostate tissue and prostatic fluid in men with prostatic carcinoma although a causative link has not been proven.

Lycopene is a member of the carotenoid family and is a natural fat-soluble pigment.  In plants it serves to protect these organisms against the toxic effects of oxygen and light. Lycopene may be helpful in preventing and possibly also managing some cancers, particularly prostate cancer, and may confer some protection against cardiovascular disease. Evidence of Lycopene protective effects are highest for cancers of the prostate, lung and stomach.

Epidemiological data regarding the effects of green tea consumption and cancer incidence are mixed but strongly suggest a protective effect. The incidence of prostate cancer, for example, is the lowest in the world in China, a country with high green tea consumption.  Boswellia Seratta (Indian frankincense) is thought to be useful for those suffering with cancer as preliminary research suggests that Boswellia acids have an antiproliferative and apoptotic effect on cancer cells. Saw Palmetto eases the urinary difficulties that develop when an enlarged prostate obstructs the exit from the bladder. In test tubes, Saw Palmetto also inhibits the actions of growth factors and inflammatory substances that may contribute to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

The Curcuminoid family which includes Tumeric have been found to have a number of antioxidant activities which to explain its reported anticarcinogenic activity.
