Alpha-Lipoic Acid is a unique addition to this multivitamin because of its renowned potent biological antioxidant activity, antioxidant recycling ability and role in enhancing energy production. It has demonstrated some anti-atherogenic effects in both animal and human studies and demonstrated the unique ability to get into cell membrane spaces where other traditional antioxidants such as Vitamin C and E cannot reach. Furthermore 2000mg of Spirulina is packed into this multivitamin as an exceptional source of chlorophyll, carotenoids, minerals, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and some unique pigments. These pigments, called phycobilins and some of its other constituents have shown an ability to favorably affect various immune functions such as boosting white blood cell phagocytic activity and increasing natural killer (NK)-cell activity.
